The llhaesa tee shirts actually were printed by an organisation which took great pains to cover its tracks, from manufacture of products through distribution. Only the reselling was out in the open.
‘They’ did not exist to make a profit, though they did exist in part to raise money for their cause, that being equality and removal of those in government who stood in the way of equality.
Many suspected EREGS as somehow having a hand in this, but EREGS took much care to avoid such actions as the mysterious printers took to cover their tracks.
Aalon, Gl’nsiel, E’sphara, Olterian, and Sjre tried desperately to find the product source; as with the competing government forces, they were unsuccessful. Unfortunately, they had formed to protect llhaesa, and they felt a growing sense of futility from failing to bring a level of discretion to the cause. This raised their level of anxiety, and in the end left an overall feeling of helplessness.
With this direct opposition material in wide circulation, llhaesa was becoming a primary threat to the government in fact, and it would not be long before the government moved to act. The five agreed to meet with llhaesa during the coming week; their suggestion would be for llhaesa and Jahrae to go into hiding. They would be too late.
At the point of her second and final arrest, llhaesa’s music was played often on illegal broadcast stations, and her music was available for purchase through intricate, widely available, also impossible to trace, sources. And peer to peer transfer was almost untraceable, along with being a low return exercise. While Brellian’s lackeys searched to find a way to squelch the spread of llhaesa’s music, it had proven exceedingly difficult to stop.
While the young woman’s music became increasingly well known around the planet, llhaesa’s political views and bravery were equally as well known as her music. With rising open expression of support for llhaesa to actually challenge Brellian – there were experts who believed she would win this hypothetical encounter in a fair encounter, as llhaesa had the overwhelming and growing support of the populace – it was inevitable he would move to bring the reluctant challenger down before things got that far.
And that is what ultimately led Brellian to order llhaesa’s arrest; he simply could not allow the sentiment of support for llhaesa to reach a critical mass; once it did, no one could stand in the way, no matter how many troops, or what technology they embraced.
For his part, Brellian felt he had erred and cut it too close, closer than if he been on top of things. Critical mass was not far away – much further, and an arrest would be the final catalyst to his demise, rather than protecting his power. He had allowed ego to get in the way of recognising the quiet power imploding upon the young artist. Brellian had moved to correct that mistake now, and it was time to end the threat llhaesa t’yaeli posed… forever.
